Zara Tindall accidentally gives rare glimpse of private area at Windsor Castle

While royal fans are allowed to explore some areas of Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, and Kensington Palace, understandably the family's private living quarters are completely off-limits.

There have been a few instances where members of the family have posted snaps inside the private areas on social media (we're looking at you, Princess Eugenie), but on the whole we have absolutely no idea what it's like inside.

But we've just been given another little glimpse and it's all thanks to Zara Tindall and Autumn Phillips.

The two women joined other members of the family for Ladies Day at Royal Ascot last week, and they both looked absolutely gorgeous.

The woman behind their stunning looks, hairdresser and make-up artist Alisia Ristevski , shared a few photos of her work on Instagram on the big day.

The photos appear to have been taken in a dressing room or bedroom, and have all been tagged at Windsor Castle.

The traditional furniture is wooden and there is a pretty lampshade with flowers painted on it.

Autumn is getting ready in a cream room with green curtains.

One of the snaps shows her sitting at a dressing table next to a bed with a bedside table.

Both rooms are filled with beauty products and hair styling tools.

Zara and Autumn also joined the Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Charles, Camilla and other members of the Royal Family for the opening day of Royal Ascot.

It's a big event in the family's calendar as they are all big fans of the races, with the Queen owning a number of horses herself.

Many of them attend several days of the event.

Last year Eugenie got into trouble for posting a photo of her dad Prince Andrew in one of Buckingham Palace's hallways.

The proud daughter praised her father for his role in Trooping the Colour as it was the first time he rode out into the mall with the Prince of Wales, Duke of Cambridge and Princess Anne.

Alongside a picture of the uniformed prince standing in an ornate corridor, she wrote: "A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty's birthday and @hehthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel in Chief of the Grenadier Guards.".

Eugenie shared this lovely photo on social media

Andrew seemed more than happy to play his part, as he beamed at his daughter who captured him in full regalia and bearskins.

But in her interview for  British Vogue , the princess admitted the snap got her into hot water with her family.

The 28-year-old explained how she had struggled to choose a photo to celebrate the occasion, thinking a Balmoral snap would be 'too personal' and an Ascot photo 'too formal'.

Eugenie  said: "I recently got in trouble for posting a picture of Papa in a corridor of the palace that was off-limits to the public."
