Zara shoppers in hysterics over photo of £119 faux fur 'Chewbacca' boots

Zara shoppers were hysterical after spotting a pair of faux fur ankle boots online.

High street giant Zara is phenomenally popular among fashion fans and shoppers alike, with queues to get in its stores often stretching around buildings.

In Liverpool, it is arguably one of the most popular shops in the city centre.

Parody Instagram account Awkward Zara is dedicated to mocking some of the brand's campaign and website photos, as well as some of its more unusual outfits - and it's already built a following of more than 64k.

Any Zara fan is familiar with the brand's aesthetic, with models - and even teddy bears - posing on its website at quirky angles more commonly associated with magazine editorials.

For some shoppers, this can make it difficult to figure out how to style some outfits - and @awkwardzara takes every opportunity to show the funny side.

The tongue-in-cheek account shared a photo from Zara's website, which shows off the retailer's flat faux fur boots. The boots, which cost £119, feature all over faux fur on the outside while the interior is also lined with faux fur.

Captioning the image, @awkwardzara penned: "Do you love animals so much that you want it to appear as though you’re walking around with two clinging to your feet? Or maybe you want the world to know that your feet are firmly planted (figuratively and literally) in the pro-body hair camp? Perhaps you’re feeling mischievous and you want to confuse the local village folk by leaving suspicious footprints around the place and reigniting rumours of a mysterious man-sized monster lurking nearby? If you answered yes to any of the above, or to looking quite frankly RIDICULOUS, Zara has you covered

"Run don’t walk (in the opposite direction) and, while you’re at it, don’t make any sudden movements or loud noises because these look as though they have the potential to come back to life at any moment…"

Amused followers and Zara fans alike took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

Laura said: "Places that are cold enough to warrant these are generally wet enough to make them completely impractical".

Hannah said: "I seem to remember something similar in the 90s!"

Sarah said: "Perfect gift for a Chewbacca fan".

Kayles commented: "The wardrobe department from Harry and the Hendersons called - they want their costumes back".

Sarah said: "It’s the price for me", adding a shocked face emoji.

Another shopper quipped: "Chewie phoned. He wants his feet back."

Gaby said: "Omg hideous", adding a crying laughing emoji.

Toni added: "they’re making me uncomfortable just looking at them!"

Other shoppers simply posted crying laughing emojis while some tagged their friends to direct them to the post.
