Zara Home closes in Leeds city centre as parent company combats change of shopping habits

Zara Home has closed in Leeds city centre as its parent company responds to changes in the retail sector brought on by Covid-19.

It was based in Briggate and sold a wide range of homeware products. During the summer, the retailer, which has Zara closes shops, announced plans to close some of its stores in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The move would see a firmer focus on online sales.

The closures seen jobs in Leeds and across the UK lost. An offshoot of Zara, the Zara Home stores sell furniture for bedrooms, livingrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and more.

It is the latest closure we’ve seen in Leeds city centre this year with many coming before the coronavirus pandemic took hold and completely changed the way people shop.

During 2020, we’ve seen Timberland, Thorntons, Monsoon and others close branches in Leeds city centre.
