Zane Tetevano's special moment after receiving Leeds Rhinos jersey from Rob Burrow

Leeds Rhinos new boy Zane Tetevano says receiving his debut shirt from club legend Rob Burrow was a special moment.

The powerful forward has been named in Richard Agar’s 21-man squad for Saturday’s Super League opener against Wakefield Trinity and is set to be a key man for the Rhinos.

Burrow, who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in December 2019, visited his old club this week as a special guest at the presentation ceremony.

“That was very special and a massive surprise as well,” Tetevano said in an interview with the Rhinos.

“He’s obviously a legend of the game for the club. I’m very grateful.

“We get to play in Rob Burrow’s jersey tomorrow and maybe for the rest of the year. I’m looking forward to it.”

Leeds are short on numbers in the outside backs but Tetevano will take his place in a strong pack tomorrow.

The former Penrith Panthers star realises just how important a fast start is for the Rhinos.

“They are a tough team but at the end of the day we’ve got to focus on ourselves and getting the win,” he said.

“Making a strong start to the season is massive."
