Zander Clark set for Aberdeen transfer talks as Stephen Glass keen on pre-contract move

Zander Clark is set for talks with Aberdeen over a pre-contract move.

St Johnstone are resigned to losing the stopper when his contract expires in the summer and there are a number of clubs interested.

But Aberdeen have now notified Saints they plan to speak to their No.1 with an approach for the 29-year-old imminent.

Pittodrie manager Stephen Glass is keen to land the Scotland squad man but knows he faces stiff competition from clubs on both sides of the border.

Clark, who played a big part in St Johnstone landing a cup double last season, has turned down a new contract at McDiarmid Park.

Aberdeen have already held pre-contract talks with St Mirren midfielder Jamie McGrath.

They have tabled a strong bid and are hopeful that they can persuade him to move north. The Buddies have warned they will want £350,000 to do a deal in this window.

Aberdeen are also looking to bring in players with pace in the front areas.
