St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson is hopeful that Zander Clark will not make a decision on his future based off finances.
Record Sport exclusively revealed that Rangers were one club eyeing up the goalkeeper who will become a free agent next summer as things stand.
Clark's immense form for Davidson has shot him into the Scotland squad and he was a key figure in St Johnstone 's historic League Cup and Scottish Cup double last season.
The 29-year-old famously assisted a goal as Saints knocked Rangers out the Scottish Cup at Ibrox on that run.
Davidson is hopeful that Clark will extend his McDiarmid Park stay beyond the summer, but is well aware other clubs are watching ahead of Saturday's League Cup semi-final against Celtic.

"We know there is going to be interest and we've put the best offer we can to him," Davidson said.
"Zander knows what I think of him and sometimes it isn't about money, it is about other situations. I am hopeful Zander will sign but I know there will be other teams interested.
"When you are successful it sometimes has a knock-on negative effect that way, but I am glad I have people looking at my players rather than nobody interested at all."
