Zack Snyder’s Justice League marked a surprising first for Wonder Woman thanks to the Flash

Zack Snyder’s Justice League marked a first for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.

The four-hour cut of the director’s superhero mashup, which was released last month, saw the director deliver his full vision of the film that he quit due to a family tragedy in 2017.

Joss Whedon was hired by Warner Bros to resume production, and the finished film was so far removed from his vision that Snyder was urged to avoid the film by producers Deborah Snyder, his wife, and film director Christopher Nolan.

Response to the new cut has been mixed, with DC fans adoring the end product and more sceptical viewers questioning whether the film needed to be so long.

It features plenty of material for comic book fans to pore over, though, thanks to hidden details and Easter eggs buried in the background.

Many people praised the character of The Flash, who is played by Ezra Miller. In fact, it’s The Flash who is behind what is officially a first for the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), which also features Batman, Superman and Aquaman.

It’s his character that calls Wonder Woman by her actual superhero moniker, the first time this has occurred.

To date, she has been called Diana.
