WWE superstars as Zack Ryder and Chelsea Green got engaged in the shadow of the Empire State Building three days before WrestleMania .
The long-time couple had, in fact, jokingly come to blows earlier the same day when they had appeared on the 'Major Wrestling Figure Podcast'
Ryder, 33, well known for his love of toy wrestling figures, got down on one knee and offered Green a 'ring', albeit a toy wrestling ring.
NXT recruit Green then gave the former Intercontinental Champion a 'low blow' for his troubles.
Later the same day, near New York's iconic landmark for Green's 28th birthday, Ryder popped the question for real.

He announced the news with a tweet channelling 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, declaring :"She said Ooh yeah!"
In the short video clip, Ryder asks: "What just happened babe?" while an elated Green swigging from a bottle of bubbly yells: "I'm engaged baby!"

Ryder and Green have been dating for two years. Green gained fame as TNA Impact star Laurel Van Ness – as a psychotic bride no less - before signing to WWE's NXT brand.

The former IMPACT Knockouts Champion used to lived in Devon in the UK when she was eight-years-old and her mother and grandparents are all British.
Ryder will battle for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship with his partner Curt Hawkins against title holders The Revival at WrestleMania on Sunday.

He famously and unexpectedly captured the Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match at WrestleMania 32.
Green made her NXT debut at TV tapings on March 13 by defeating Jessie Elaban - despite breaking her wrist during the match.
Well-wishes were sent to her and Ryder by former WWE ring announcer turned AEW chief brand officer Brandi Rhodes.
She said: "I put these two together...and it worked. I’ll be charging by the minute now for match-makings. Congrats you two! Love you guys!"
