Lions RB Zach Zenner wows with score on medical school admissions test

It’s been a busy offseason for Lions running back Zach Zenner. The fan favorite became a father for the second time, and he’s also been busily preparing for his medical school exams.

Zenner passed the MCAT after his senior season at South Dakota State. But instead of jumping into med school at that time, he pursued his other dream. Four years later he’s still a Detroit Lion and could be poised for a bigger role with a more run-oriented offense.

With an eye on his post-football future, Zenner kept up with the studying. He used the whiteboards in the Lions facility to help chart things out and prepare to retake the MCAT.

It worked. According to ESPN, Zenner scored a 518 on the exam. That’s in the 96th percentile and qualifies Zenner to get into just about any medical school he desires. Pretty impressive for an active NFL player with two kids under age 2 at home.

But that will have to wait until his NFL career comes to an end.
