Five down. One to go. Then a summit of sorts.
That's the update for Zach LaVine and his surgically repaired left ACL, which he will work out for a sixth straight contact practice on Thursday with the Bulls after one session with them last Saturday and four straight with Windy City.
LaVine will travel on the upcoming two-game trip for more individual workouts and then, according to coach Fred Hoiberg, sit down with doctors, trainers, management and coaches to finalize his plan for game action.
"The doctors and trainers will have the most prominent voice," Hoiberg said.
The Bulls haven't ruled out having LaVine first play in the G League.
"The biggest thing that fits with us is getting out and playing in transition. He can really run the wings and finish on the break. He's also dynamic in pick-and-roll situations," Hoiberg said. "He'll really help us with our switch attack. He's good in isolation situations. He's really good in passing the ball when he has been loaded on in practice, so he's shown a really good IQ as far as when to make the on-time, on-target pass. He's such a versatile player."
