Zach Hemming says Kilmarnock getting used to tough matches ahead of Morton clash

Zach Hemming is expecting a tough battle at Cappielow – but says that's something they're getting used to in this league.

Kilmarnock head to Greenock to take on Rugby Park Scottish Cup winner Gus MacPherson's Morton, and the Middlesbrough loanee goalkeeper knows it won't be easy.

He said: "The lads have been saying it's a tough ground to go to in terms of getting a result.

"Sometimes you struggle to get into the game at these places, but we need to make sure we are on it.

"It's a tough league, even the teams at the bottom can beat teams at the top, anyone can beat anyone on their day in this league.

"I think we just need to keep going and getting results, that's all we can do for now."

Hemming reckons these games are massive in terms of progressing his career as he bid to make a name for himself in the cinch Championship.

He said: "It is good getting games, that's the main thing as a young goalkeeper. I need to get experience, the more you get the better you play.

"But it's a rough league, as a goalkeeper it's very physical at the likes of corners, but that will only make me a better goalkeeper.

"It's physical on the pitch, it's hard to go to some places, but the boys have battled well."

He added: "It's good to have ex-goalkeepers at the club to get more opinions.

"[Colin] Doyle is great, and then you get the gaffer who can give you confidence."
