Zach Clough not expecting to leave Nottingham Forest on deadline day

Zach Clough is not expecting to leave Nottingham Forest before the transfer window closes at 5pm today, Nottinghamshire Live understands.

Former Bolton man Clough has featured throughout pre-season in the Reds’ Under-23 squad, along with Daryl Murphy and Jason Cummings, and could yet move to League One or Two with that window remaining open until September 2, but is understood to not be in manager Sabri Lamouchi’s first team plans this term.

Clough’s last senior appearance for the Reds came during an FA Cup defeat at Hull City in January last year.

Since that outing at the KCOM Stadium, Clough has had loan spells at Rochdale and former club Wanderers.

A move to Oldham Athletic was mooted earlier this summer, and the midfielder remains keen to move on in a bid to play regular football.

In total, Clough has played 31 times for the Reds, scoring four goals.
