Zach Brown, now with Eagles, didn’t hold back when asked about Kirk Cousins

Zach Brown, a surprising cut by the Washington Redskins this summer, is now elsewhere in the NFC East and recently had some not-so-kind comments about former teammate Kirk Cousins.

Cousins has had a rough start to his season with the Minnesota Vikings, so Brown took aim and didn’t hold back when asked, per ESPN’s Tim McManus:

“I realized when I was in Washington, he was kind of careless with the ball. But at the same time, hey, you make the bed you sleep in…I was at the Redskins with him so I know about him. That’s my viewpoint on him.”

Brown isn’t wrong — but it’s interesting to see him lean into his Redskins days to throw out some hits here. And Brown was the guy a year ago whose comments had him in hot water before the cut this summer.

As for Cousins, he’s thrown just five touchdowns and two interceptions so far for a loaded passing attack that has clearly expected more. But the slow start doesn’t imply a bad season, not a year removed from Cousins throwing for 4,200-plus yards and 30 touchdowns a season ago.
