Zac Taylor won’t speculate on Jonah Williams’ sudden injury

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor started mandatory minicamp by revealing first-round pick Jonah Williams is hurt.

During the media session, Taylor said Williams suffered a setback and “got dinged up” last week, according to the team’s website. But he refused to speculate on what the issue might be until the offensive tackle gets diagnosed by doctors.

In the practice session that followed, Cordy Glenn went back to left tackle and Christian Westerman took up the mantle at left guard while Williams watched from the sidelines.

While this doesn’t sound overly serious, it is a little odd nothing came out about this until now and there has been a week before any testing was done.

But until something further breaks on this front, the Bengals have the next six weeks off after this three-day sprint. It hurts to not have the ideal left tackle out there as the group tries to gel, but it doesn’t seem like anything serious — as of now.
