Zac Taylor won’t rule out more Bengals activity in free agency

It would seem the Cincinnati Bengals are done with free agency ahead of the 2020 NFL draft.

After all, the Bengals just announced their eight signings, a free-agency class wholly unexpected and uncharacteristically aggressive.

Or not.

During a meet with the media, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor noted the team “might not be done with free agent signings” just yet, according to WCPO’s Laurel Pfahler.

And given the team’s actions so far it really isn’t all that hard to believe. While the team has committed upwards of $150 million to sign players like D.J. Reader and Trae Waynes, never mind retaining A.J. Green, one could see the Bengals still making a value move.

After all, the Bengals are quite comfortable with finding value buys and being active during the third wave.

At this stage, value buys who can compete over the summer remain on the market. Think guys along the offensive line and maybe tight end or wideout. Maybe a pass rusher too, especially when Jadeveon Clowney’s presence helps guys like Cameron Wake fly under the radar still.

Bengals fans are probably content given the performance so far and wouldn’t mind if the team was done. Just don’t be shocked if the newly aggressive Zac Taylor-led show makes something else happen.
