Zac Taylor says ‘everything is on the table’ at 11th overall

Cincinnati Bengals fans are going to like this one.

Appearing at owner meetings this week, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor didn’t flinch when asked what the team might do with the 11th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft.

According to ESPN’s Katherine Terrell, Taylor agreed when asked if everything was on the table.

Shocker, really. In the past, Marvin Lewis had always shied away from the question. And more specifically, a few years ago, he ruled out quarterback but agreed everything else was a possibility.

Understandably, this will lead to some speculation from fans that the Bengals might take a first-round quarterback. And they might — but keep in mind Taylor also defended Andy Dalton when asked about him.

Point is, this is at least reassuring to hear from the new head coach. The Bengals seemingly hit every pertinent need in free agency at least in a passable fashion, which really opens up the first round.

Maybe that’s a quarterback. Maybe it isn’t. But Taylor sure knows how to keep the excitement of his arrival right on rolling.
