Zac Taylor reveals what he talked with Joe Burrow about after QB’s injury

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow made the trip back to Cincinnati with his team over the weekend after suffering a season-ending knee injury in Washington.

And he wasn’t interested in talking about himself.

So says Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, who on Wednesday told reporters what he and the No. 1 pick talked about as they made the trip from Washington to Cincinnati.

Here’s Taylor, via ESPN’s Ben Baby:

“He wanted to know what happened in the second half… He didn’t want to talk about himself. He wants to talk about what we’re doing to get better.”

Based on what we know about Burrow, that sure sounds like the franchise quarterback.

Taylor also told reporters he doesn’t know when Burrow will officially have surgery on the injured left knee.

While the surgery date is still an unknown, coming out of additional testing, the Bengals remain confident Burrow will make a full recovery.
