Zac Taylor on trades: Bengals looking at ‘anything that’s on the table’

Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor hit the podium Monday and noted something fans might be interested to hear: He and the front office are at least doing due diligence before the trade deadline.

We asked earlier if the front office will help Taylor in some fashion before the Oct. 29 deadline. And while trades such as Mohamed Sanu to New England and Emmanuel Sanders to San Francisco have since went down, the Bengals have been quiet.

But it sounds like everything is under consideration, as Taylor told the media:

“Every day. We meet every single morning, and we talk through anything that’s on the table. There are a lot of things on the table. Every day — it’s not a state of the union — it’s an ongoing conversation, every single day, and we’re in a good place there.”

The fact the front office is doing due diligence and listening to whatever might come up on the phones — which are surely ringing given the 0-7 start — should be obvious.

Even so, it sure doesn’t hurt to hear the rookie head coach say it. Whether those conversations turn into an actual trade or two is perhaps the most interesting thing left about this Bengals season besides the draft order.
