Zac Taylor makes a statement on A.J. Green: ‘We’re not trading that guy’

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor briefly met with the media after Thursday’s practice and had something to say on the A.J. Green front.

Short and sweet too: the Bengals aren’t trading Green.

Taylor said as much hours removed from Green going through his first full-speed practice in more than 40 days. ESPN’s Ben Baby caught video of the interview.

Of course, this is Taylor making this statement — not the front office. Naturally, an extension should follow soon.

But the injury Green suffered to start camp this year clearly created a wedge between both sides and massive deals for Julio Jones and others elsewhere didn’t help.

Green himself has said this week he’s ready for whatever might happen at the trade deadline. Teammates like Carlos Dunlap have even mentioned the Andrew Whitworth situation.

In other words, Taylor wants Green aboard and the front office had better be ready to play ball on an extension because the trade rumors aren’t going to cease.
