Zac Taylor isn’t ready to say Ja’Marr Chase will play vs. Chiefs

Earlier in the week, it seemed a given that Ja’Marr Chase would suit up when his Cincinnati Bengals take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17.

Before the release of Friday’s final injury report, though, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor wasn’t ready to make any such declaration.

After Chase went “limited” again on Friday, making that two days in a row after missing Wednesday’s practice, Taylor told reporters the following about Chase’s status, according to CLNS Media’s Mike Petraglia: “We’ll see. Take it over the next 48 hours.”

Chase missed last week’s game against the Chiefs with the shoulder issue but has seemingly been on a steady rise this week.

For the Bengals, it might come down to judging the team’s usually precautionary approach to injuries regardless of the situation against the idea Sunday is a must-win game to keep the playoff hopes alive.

Based on the bulletin board material he gave the Chiefs with some trash talk, though, Chase sure seems to think he’ll be on the field.
