B.W. Webb is quickly making a name for himself with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Webb was initially a bit of an under-the-radar move when he joined the team this offseason via free agency. At best, he figured to get some snaps if the team couldn’t get Darqueze Dennard back under contract.
But above, The Athletic’s Jay Morrison pointed out Zac Taylor did a bit of a rare thing by identifying Webb as a standout.
This praise follows on the heels of new Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo praising Webb as a guy who can help teammates understand the defense after the two spent some time together with the New York Giants.
Call it another feather in the cap of sorts for Webb, who could have a bigger role than expected given all the noise he’s made since arriving. If so, the long-term outlook has to come into the discussion too given the fact the front office gave him a multi-year deal.
