Zac Taylor has 6-4 Bengals playing some very disciplined football in 2021

The fact the Cincinnati Bengals don’t get penalized much this season really shined through during the team’s Week 11, 32-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Those Raiders were notably undisciplined, at one point getting flagged for multiple personal-foul calls that extended Cincinnati drives. By the end of the game, Las Vegas had been hit with seven flags, costing the team 77 yards, never mind critical field position, tempo and opportunities.

The Bengals? One flag for five yards — all game.

As 700 WLW’s Lance McAlister pointed out, the Bengals have only been flagged 40 times all year, an NFL-low mark and well below the average:

That’s a credit to head coach Zac Taylor and his staff after two years of dramatic roster turnover while attempting to reset the culture in the building.

Taylor himself noted that his Bengals are more mature this year, as exemplified by the team’s sudden excellent performance on the road. And the fact the Bengals play disciplined football and rarely shoot themselves in the foot sure doesn’t hurt when considering the 6-4 record and playoff positioning, either.
