Zac Taylor becomes 2nd coach in NFL history to start winless on the road over 15 games

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor moved to 4-23-1 as a head coach after Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Taylor, who has yet to win a road game during his two seasons in Cincinnati, made more unfortunate history in the process.

According to Joe Reedy of the Associated Press, Taylor is now the second coach ever to win zero road games over his first 15 attempts.

That means Taylor sits beside only Marty Mornhinweg with this honor. Mornhinweg, for what it’s worth, went 0-16 in road games over the course of two seasons as head coach for the Detroit Lions in 2001 and 2002, ultimatley going 5-27.

At this pace, Taylor might match the 0-16 mark and be unable to squeak out a fifth win. His team’s final road game happens in Week 16 against Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans.

Considering Taylor’s offenses haven’t breached the 200-total-yard mark in two consecutive games now, the final four games might look quite a bit like Sunday while Taylor and his staff match more dubious history.
