Let the fun begin.
According to MMQB’s Albert Breer, new Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is one of those in attendance at Kyler Murray’s Oklahoma pro day.
As Breer notes, the Bengals could simply be there for Cody Ford or any other number of prospects. And a new head coach making the rounds at various major pro days isn’t exactly surprising.
But it is something fans will get excited about — which they need given the team’s lackluster start to free agency. And speculation is bound to run rampant due to the Bengals holding a top-11 pick and boasting plenty of assets to move up.
Taylor has been adamant Andy Dalton is the quarterback he prefers for the future. But new head coaches often go out and get their own guys eventually. Murray is the best prospect in the class at his position and would be quite the interesting fit with an offense boasting Joe Mixon, A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd, not to mention Taylor’s offensive acumen.
Due diligence or not, Taylor just made some waves.
