Zac Taylor, Andy Dalton comment on the Cordy Glenn situation

Cordy Glenn returned to the Cincinnati Bengals this week after his one-game suspension.

Naturally, faces of the organization were asked about the situation before the team departs for London.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor:

“With all of our players, we want them to operate within the culture we’re setting forth. We communicate with every player on this team daily of the things that we want. So, we’re looking forward to getting back to practice today.”

Taylor also said his stressing of accountability is on a “case-by-case basis” and the Glenn situation will move forward slowly.

Quarterback Andy Dalton also sat down with the media and noted the team would accept Glenn back under certain conditions:

“For us, we want everybody that’s out there to be ready to go and to give full effort and to be all-in on everything we’re doing. If he’s up to that and doing exactly what Zac wants and doing what this team is built on, we’ll accept him back. We want everyone to buy into what we’re doing. I’m not saying he is, and I’m not saying he isn’t. You want everyone to be on the same page.”

It’s very easy to read between the lines with these notes from the faces of the organization, especially coming out of the reports there was an impasse between the team and Glenn over the handling of his concussion, culminating in a fine and eventual suspension.

Given the events of the past week, it was hard to see Glenn ever taking the field with the Bengals again. With the trade deadline looming, the idea still persists despite his return to the team.
