Zac Taylor again uses a platform to stress he wants A.J. Green back

In case Cincinnati Bengals fans hadn’t heard, head coach Zac Taylor wants A.J. Green back with the team next season.

Taylor’s latest interview in which he stresses this point came via an appearance on the “Bengals Beat Podcast” with Tyler Dragon and Lindsay Patterson.

“He’s a guy that we’re excited about to have part of this team, first and foremost,” Taylor said. “That’s what matters right now. As we go through the offseason, we’ll figure out how it best fits. But right now, we expect him to be a part of the team. We want him to be a part of the team.”

Taylor and the Bengals remain consistent in their messaging throughout this process. So has Green, who has noted he’s not a fan of the franchise tag, but that’d he would play under it.

For what it’s worth, Bengals.com expects the Bengals to all out in deals for Green and Joe Mixon.

Health is the big impasse with Green given his recent injury history. If two parties can’t agree to an extension before free agency opens, he’ll assuredly receive a tag.
