Zac Taylor admits Bengals could be active in free agency soon

Even Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor would admit the team might be on the hunt for a free-agent add in the coming days as training camp gets underway.

The Bengals sit comfortably under the 80-player mark for now after recent roster moves. Tuesday, Taylor said the team is “open to a lot of things” in free agency right now, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby.

That’s not too shocking given the repeated setbacks along the defensive line, the latest of which was sending the promising Renell Wren to the NFI.

Taylor and Co. have already been active on the market recently with the addition of quarterback Brandon Allen. While another free-agent move doesn’t figure to be an expensive one — the team’s focused on extending Joe Mixon — it’s reasonable to expect a camp body at a position of need.

Any player signed would have to slowly work through the lengthy onboarding protocols before actually getting on the field.
