Zabaleta starts for suspended Fredericks - West Ham predicted team vs Crystal Palace

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini will be forced into at least one change when the Hammers travel from east to south east London to take on Crystal Palace on Boxing Day.

The Hammers will have had a much needed break heading into the game following their victory at St Mary's last weekend thanks to their game with Liverpool being postponed owing to the Reds' participation in the Club World Cup in Qatar.

Palace meanwhile take n Newcastle United at St James' Park this weekend and have a shorter turnaround rest before facing the Hammers next Thursday.

Manuel Pellegrini will be taking his team across the capital without Ryan Fredericks, the right back serving a one-match ban after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season last time out and earning himself Boxing Day off with his family.

The Hammers manager has a decision to make over who replaced Fredericks and who will be tasked with keeping Palace's best player, Wilfried Zaha, in check on the 26th.

Pablo Zabaleta is the most likely option though Pellegrini will do well to remember what happened when the veteran Argentine last played and was ripped apart by Newcastle's Allan Saint-Maximin.

Issa Diop could potentially fill in at right back, as could Arthur Masuaku should the manager choose to so he does have options out there to replace Fredericks.

Here is what we think he will go with:

As you can see, we have gone for Zabaleta at right back as he is the natural replacement for Fredericks but will have a big afternoon on his hands to keep Zaha in check.

He is the only change that we have made to our team and that is on the assumption that David Martin is fit to take his place in goal. The stand-in stopper picked up a hip muscle injury in the victory at Saints and Lukasz Fabianski is closing in on a return.

Both are believed to have been training but with the severity of Fabianski's injury which has laid him low since September, we've given him and extra week to get 100 per cent fit.

The rest of the team is unchanged from the Southampton game and th formation, 4-4-2, is the same as well after the front two of Michail Antonio and Sebastien Haller worked well when finally it was put to use on the pitch.
