Yvonne Connolly has paid tribute after her boyfriend John Conroy's father sadly passed away over the weekend.
Jack Conroy was well-known for his work as a cinematographer. He worked on many iconic films including My Left Foot, The Field and The Last Outlaw.
The Kildare man is survived by his wife Mona, children Marnie, John, Ann, Emer, and Emmet, sister Vera, brothers Tony, George, Jim, Peter and Louis, daughter-in-law Rachel, sons-in-law Gerry and Fergal, his 17 grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Following the news, Yvonne said: "The world has lost a legend today."
John also paid tribute to his father: "My heart is broken, My Dad, Mentor & Hero #cinematographer #JackConroy passed away this morning I miss him & have missed him for some time now because of #Alzheimers.
"He is an amazing father.A brilliant role model for all that were lucky enough to know him.
"I have to say the care he received in “le chéile ward” at St Vincent's Hospital Athy was 2nd to none. They were like family there.
"I love you Jack and will carry you with me with every check of my meter."
Jack will lie in repose at his home on Tuesday from 5pm with prayers at 7pm.
The removal will take place on Wednesday morning at 10.20am to arrive at The Church of The Irish Martyrs, Ballycane, Naas for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by private cremation in Newland’s Cross Crematorium.
