YouTubers who travelled from London to climb Forth Road Bridge in dangerous stunt fined

A pair of Youtubers who travelled from London to climb the Forth Road Bridge in a dangerous traffic-stopping stunt have been fined more than £1000 each.

Last month Londoners Owen Kelly and Usamah Quraishi climbed on to a cable before walking up it to the top, more than 500ft above the water - filming their escapades for their social media channels.

The hair-raising incident on September 5 at around 8.20pm caused traffic to stop. Police were called but the pair escaped by clambering under the bridge before being caught on CCTV.

Quraishi, 20, has 139,000 YouTube subscribers and has been banned from various locations.

At Dunfermline Sheriff Court, he and Kelly, 19, admitted breach of the peace and causing alarm.

Sheriff James Macdonald branded them “the most stupid and irresponsible individuals to have darkened the doors of this court”.
