YouTuber Jeffree Star 'told to die' by vile trolls after breaking back in horror crash

Jeffree Star and his friend Daniel Lucas have thanked fans for their support after their horror crash - but revealed a darker side to the social media response.

The YouTuber and make-up artist, 35, told that he and friend Daniel "very nearly lost their lives" after they hit black ice while driving, the car flipping three times.

The pair updated fans from the hospital yesterday, Jeffree sharing that he was in "excruciating pain" after suffering a broken back.

Daniel, meanwhile, is being kept in the hospital and monitored amid "complications" with his organs due to past battles with colon cancer.

And today they both thanked followers for their kind words and messages of support.

But, they added, there were those who sent cruel taunts their way, too.

"We want to say thank you to everyone who has checked in on us and sent us well wishes," Jeffree told the camera.

"On the dark side I think me and Daniel won the Guinness Book of World Records for people telling us the most times to die."

Daniel calmly added: "It was really evil. It was gross.

"But there are a million more people that are sending us love, so f**k the haters, and thank you guys so much for showing us love."

"Exactly!" Jeffree exclaimed.

He also tweeted this morning: "We woke up crying happy tears today. So thankful for everyone's out pouring love.

"To everyone who wished death upon Daniel and I, we pray you find happiness within yourself.

"Today he's having more tests done and might need surgery. I'm now discharged."

The news of their hospitalisation was broken on Jeffree's Instagram page, alongside a photograph of him in a hospital bed wearing a neck brace, Daniel holding his hand.

The post read: "A few hours ago Jeffree and Daniel were in a severe car accident and the car flipped 3 times after hitting black ice.

"We will update you all when the doctor gives us more info. So thankful they are both alive."
