YouTuber Grace Victory in coma with coronavirus one day after giving birth to baby boy

YouTuber Grace Victory has been placed in induced coma in her battle with coronavirus just a day after giving birth to a baby boy.

The social media star, 30, was pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Lee when she became ill with Covid-19 two weeks ago.

She initially developed mild symptoms but started to deteriorate and doctors decided they needed to deliver the baby early because she was "too unwell to continue with the pregnancy".

The baby boy was born on Christmas Eve and Grace was admitted to intensive care a day later.

The tot was not due to arrive until February.

A statement posted on Grace's Instagram page explained she has since been placed in an induced coma as she continues to battle coronavirus.

It read: "As you guys know, Grace gave birth on Christmas Eve to a beautiful baby boy, who is currently doing so well, he's incredible.

"We love him so much. ‘Grace developed Covid-19 two weeks ago and although her symptoms were mild at first, they worsened as the days went on.

"Which meant they had to deliver the baby as soon as possible, as she was just too unwell to carry on with the pregnancy.

"Grace was admitted into intensive care on Christmas Day due to issues with her breathing & therefore they had to make the decision of placing her into an induced coma, to give her body the rest it needs, in order to recover."

The statement added that Grace is "Currently stable" and asked fans to keep her in their prayers.

It went on: "We love her so, so much and we know she’ll come out of this stronger than ever.

"She has dedicated her whole career to healing people, we now ask that you pray, to heal her."

After hearing the sad news, Grace's famous fans took to Instagram to share their best wishes.

After her son was born Grace was able to update her followers before she was placed in the induced coma.

She tweeted: "We're parents it’s been a wild week but this morning baby boy arrived and is our little Christmas miracle.

"We are all doing so well and I am f*****g in love."

Her last message added: "When baby was being born Lee sang 'the first time I saw your face' and that is why I need to marry him.

"I'm a whole Mum!! I can’t believe it."

Grace announced her pregnancy back in May and revealed she couldn't wait to have a baby with Lee, who she has been dating for around two years.

She's one of the most successful YouTubers in the UK and uses her social media reach to raise awareness of issues including mental health.
