YouTube TV puts Padres fans in dark, drops Fox Sports San Diego

Cord-cutters in San Diego are losing another avenue to follow the Padres.

YouTube TV on Thursday announced it will no longer offer Fox Regional Sports Networks, including Fox Sports San Diego, on its menu of channels.

The change goes into effect beginning Feb. 29 after YouTube TV announced on Twitter that it was unable to reach a distribution agreement with Sinclair, which purchased most of the Fox Regional Sports Networks from Disney for more than $10 billion last year.

YouTube TV is the third major streaming service to drop Fox Regional Sports Networks since the Sinclair purchase, according to cordcuttersnews.com, following in the footsteps of Sling TV and fuboTV.

Hulu and AT&T TV Now are currently the only live TV streaming services that offer Fox Regional Sports Networks.

Fox Sports San Diego is entering its ninth season broadcasting Padres games. The MLB app also streams games, but Padres telecasts are not available because of MLB's local blackout policy. Fox Sports Go offers games via streaming but only to customers with a subscription to a cable or satellite service that carries FSSD.
