YouTube star Whindersson Nunes details KSI fight talks ahead of boxing return

Brazilian YouTube star Whindersson Nunes has told KSI to name a date and a price for the pair to meet in a massive international super-fight.

The comedian and musician is one of the world's biggest influencers and boasts tens of millions more followers than KSI, who in his own right has over 40million YouTube subscribers. Nunes doesn't speak English and engages primarily with a Portuguese-speaking audience in Brazil, but has larger numbers across his channels than the likes of KSI or Jake and Logan Paul.

He is currently preparing for a fight with King Kenny in the semi-finals of Kingpyn Boxing's High Stakes tournament, which is going ahead on DAZN next Saturday from Dublin's 3Arena. But the Watford native has offered triple the purse for Nunes to quit the embattled promotion and face him in a Brazilian stadium under his Misfits Boxing banner.

"They reached out to us," Nunes said of KSI's promotional team ahead of his upcoming meeting with King Kenny. "We have had some brief talks, these guys like to talk a lot, negotiate a lot but they're not too much into action. So we're waiting, name a date, an amount so let's do it! It doesn't necessarily have to be in Brazil but it would be cooler because the stadium would be much bigger."

The Brazilian is believed to have sold over 187,000 tickets during his latest nine-country tour, which included 27 cities in his home nation earlier this year. And many in the British influencer scene were stunned by the reception he received during his last outing against little-known MMA fighter Filipek last time out.

Nunes, I loved the energy you and your fans brought to Kingpyn," KSI wrote on Twitter immediately after the event. "As soon as you won your fight, the majority of the audience left. You need to realise that you’re bigger than Kingpyn. I wanna fight you in a stadium in Brazil.

"Whatever Kingpyn are paying you, I’ll triple it. Kingpyn can replace you with someone else in the tournament. Let’s do it after my fight in May."

However, he opted to continue with the tournament, which after a tumultuous week has secured funding and will go ahead live on DAZN next Saturday. He will face KSI's fellow Brit Kenny, who knocked out Thai influencer MyMateNate in a vicious fashion on the last Kingpyn show.

"To be honest with you, I don't this is a 'career fight' for us or anything like that," he admitted. "I think that Kenny is reaching for his place in the sun and he does a really nice job, I'm sure he's working really hard. It's not about winning or losing for me but showing to people that working hard and dedicating yourself and developing new skills will evolve you into a new person.

"I respect Kenny, I expect we're going to give a very good show for the fans but for me, it's more about showcasing my development above wins or losses."
