YouTube star pulls out of boxing fight after opponent attacked him in hotel

YouTube star Slim Albaher has had to delay his boxing return after he was left injured in a hotel lobby brawl with opponent Ryan Taylor.

American YouTuber Albaher has stopped all three of his boxing opponents to date and had flown to the UK from New York to promote his scheduled July 16 bout with Taylor. But the fight is off just days after it was announced, with footage emerging showing the Brit, along with Bellator MMA fighter Kane Mousah, getting into an altercation with his rival.

The pair were once friends who appeared in one another's vlogs, but their relationship turned sour and they had agreed to fight on the upcoming Kingpyn Boxing card at The O2 arena's Indigo venue. However, after the violent altercation, Albaher explained that his doctors have warned him against training or fighting for the foreseeable future due to a detached retina.

"For a few minutes, I couldn't see out of my left eye," Albaher explained in a video on his YouTube channel. "I still have trouble seeing out of my left eye - it's humiliating, I'm really upset because I wanted the fight to go through.

"After seeing countless eye doctors and speaking to countless people, the doctors have told me that I'm not even allowed to train or do anything right now. I'm so sad about that, but look at my eye now.

"The doctor told me my retina's detached, I've got countless swellings in the back and front of my eye. I was told I can't be training, I can't do any boxing, I can't do anything any time soon which is so upsetting to me, it breaks my heart.

"I don't care about the injury, I just care that I can't even compete any more right now. Even after this incident, I still wanted to fight Ryan Taylor because I still know 100 per cent in a one-on-one fair, clean match, he has zero chance, it's a suicide mission for Ryan Taylor to step in the ring with me, he knows that."

Taylor infamously was disqualified in his boxing debut back in March after he headbutted his opponent, DK Money, at the OVO Arena Wembley. He was given another chance to fight by Kingpyn Boxing and claims that the promotion are looking to match him up with another influencer.

As for Mousah's involvement, the Bellator lightweight can be seen in footage getting physical with Albaher and his friend, Adam Saleh, both of whom have no MMA experience. The Brit is expected to face Georgi Karakhanyan in Dublin on September 23.

Mirror Fighting have reached out to Bellator MMA for comment on Mousah's involvement in the incident.

It is the second fight to have been pulled from the Kingpyn card since their press conference in London last week, with TikTok star Astrid Wett also deciding not to compete. She was supposed to face Elle Brooke in the co-main event, but quit over concerns about the safety of the event.
