YouTube has cancelled four of their scripted shows.
The online streaming service, YouTube Premium, has axed Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television, the Adam Pally and Sam Richardson-starring Champaign ILL, Rosanna Arquette’s Sideswiped, and the comedy Do You Want to See a Dead Body.
Susanne Daniels, Global Head of Original Content for YouTube, said of the decision: “Our goal is to create amazing programming focused on music, education, YouTube creators and some lighthouse shows.
“We just had our most successful year to date and will soon announce a slate of new and returning hits.”
Certain scripted shows will continue on the platform, including the Karate Kid spin-off Cobra Kai, which returns for a second season, Liza on Demand, starring YouTuber Liza Koshy, and Impulse.
According to Deadline, YouTube has begun slowly cutting out their scripted shows in exchange for unscripted reality shows.
