Youths suspected in bin fire which ripped through retailers in Albert Square shopping centre, Widnes

Cheshire Constabulary have launched an appeal to find the culprits involved in a suspected arson attack on a bin which spread to Albert Square Shopping Centre on Saturday night (October 30).

Cheshire Fire and Rescue were dispatched and extinguished the retail building blaze and identified that an arson attack on a nearby bin caused the fire.

The retail premises was badly damaged and police suspect anti-social youths who were spotted in the area are responsible.

Kingsway Police investigating the incident have taken to Twitter to appeal to parents directly to ask their children where they have been this evening.

Kingsway Police tweeted at 10.25pm: "Do you know where your children are?

"Bin fire at the back of Albert Square which has caused substantial damage to nearby retail premises!

"Council CCTV are reviewing footage of suspects! Thank you to #CountyFire"
