Youths hang onto the back of moving trentbarton bus in shocking video

This astonishing video shows the moment youths risked their lives hanging onto the back of a moving trentbarton bus in Kirky-in-Ashfield.

The incident in Berry Avenue happened on Thursday afternoon, May 13.

Two youths can be seen side-by-side as the bus travels down the road - and one jumps off as it reaches a junction.

A witness who caught the incident on camera was shocked by what she saw.

A woman, who gave permission for her video to be published, said: “I was shocked and had to share how stupid some kids can be.”

She confirmed she hadn't reported the incident to Nottinghamshire Police. The youths had unconventionally boarded a bus running as part of trentbarton's threes service.

The company warned that the pair had put their lives on the line - and the driver would have been unaware of what was going on at the time.

A trentbarton spokesman said: “We were shocked to see this footage. Not only are these boys endangering their own lives, they are also risking the safety of other road users. Our driver would have been completely unaware of their reckless actions.

“Our message to these boys in particular, and any other young people thinking of trying something similar, is simple – do not risk a broken bone or worse. If our CCTV cameras record such dangerous behaviour, we will report it to the police.”
