Groups of youths have been causing chaos on local bus services by hitting emergency stop buttons and then abusing drivers and passengers.
Police in East Lothian say they've been alerted to a number of incidents in the Prestonpans area in recent days. Officers say the young people, many of them using e-scooters, have been stopping busses before harassing those on-board.
The behaviour is described as being "extremely dangerous" and police say they'll be carrying out additional patrols in a bid to catch those responsible.
They are also appealing for parents to consider where their children are, and if they are not at home what they are doing given the current Covid-19 restrictions.
East Lothian Police say: "There have been a number of incidents reported to Police Scotland relating to anti-social behaviour involving groups of youths in the Prestonpans area, some using e-scooters, who have been stopping buses by hitting the emergency stop buttons and harassing drivers and passengers.
"This behaviour is extremely dangerous, is impacting the local community and services and as such should STOP IMMEDIATELY.
"Additional patrols by uniformed and plain-clothes officers will be carried out and any individuals involved in this activity will be dealt with accordingly.
"Parents are again asked to consider where their own children are and what they are doing when not at home, particularly given the current Covid lockdown restrictions.
"Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact Police Scotland on 101."
