Youth lured in job trap, duped of Rs 30,000

BHOPAL: Crime branch acting on a complaint filed by a Bairagarh-based youth registered a case on charges of fraud against two fraudsters on Thursday. The accused lured him in their net on pretext of a job opportunity and then sent a link for appearing in the interview.

The accused asked the OTP received on his phone after which Rs 31448 were deducted from his account.

Police said that Sumit Mehra, 21, a resident of Bairagarh, was unemployed and searching for a job. Around a month back he received a call from an unknown number on which the caller introduced himself as representative of a job portal.

The caller told him that he would have to appear in an interview for which he will have to pay Rs 10. Sumit was asked to click on a link and give the OTP received on his phone. As soon as , Sumit provided the OTP as he was asked, Rs 31448 were deducted from his account.
