Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has admitted that he is ‘enjoying’ playing alongside Youri Tielemans amid links with Arsenal.
Questions have developed over the Belgian’s future over recent weeks, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2023.
It was reported that he has rejected the offer of a new deal at the King Power Stadium - leading the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United to circle for a potential deal in the upcoming summer transfer window.
It remains to be seen whether any of the interested parties will be able to tempt the Foxes into selling one of their star assets but one of their other talented midfielders Wilfred Ndidi has given his say on Tielemans’ status in the East-Midlands.
Talking in a press conference ahead of the Foxes’ UEFA Europa Conference League tie with Randers FC, the Nigerian said: “I enjoy every moment.
“Youri is a player I love. He plays great in the middle because of his technique. He’s really doing well.
“I’m just enjoying the moment. We complement each other.”
The pair have been teammates since Tielemans arrived at Leicester on a loan deal from French outfit AS Monaco.
Following an impressive six-month spell, he was signed on a permanent contract for a reported fee of £40m and alongside Ndidi has been key to the Foxes claiming the FA Cup, as well as back-to-back fifth-placed finishes in the Premier League.
Ndidi’s thoughts are not the only updates that have been forthcoming from the King Power Stadium regarding Tielemans’ future.
Current boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the 24-year-old has not in fact turned down an extended deal despite reports to the contrary.
Talking at the weekend, he said: "He hasn't declined. For me his position is exactly the same as what it was.
"He's a fantastic player and there's been no movement whatsoever, he's a player who has continued to work and is working well.
“Till the last day he's here whether that’s at the end of the contract or summer or beyond that, he will always give his best because he's a top professional and he showed his commitment today. There's interest trying to be generated by other people."
