Youri Tielemans responds to Man Utd and Arsenal transfer interest

Youri Tielemans has insisted Leicester is the right place for him to be playing his football despite interest from Arsenal and Manchester United .

The Belgian was on the radar of both the Gunners and the Red Devils over the course of the summer but made his switch to the King Power Stadium permanent in a £40million deal from Monaco.

Tielemans initially joined the Foxes on loan in January and scored three goals while laying on another four for his teammates in the second half of the campaign.

Brendan Rodgers made the 22-year-old his prime target for the summer and Leicester managed to strike a deal with Monaco - despite interest from some of England's top clubs.

He penned a four-year deal in the East Midlands and says Leicester are right fit for him at the current stage of his career.

"During the transfer window, I was happy of the interest of certain big clubs," Tielemans said ahead of Belgium's Euro 2020 qualifiers against San Marino and Scotland.

"I needed to make a choice for my young career and I think it was the right one. To arrive off the back of a €45m transfer doesn’t change anything.

"They already knew me at Leicester. My loan spell went very good. I wanted to continue playing in this club."
