Youri Tielemans gives update on future amid Manchester United and Arsenal transfer speculation

Youri Tielemans says he expects to return to Monaco once his loan spell at Leicester comes to an end.

The Belgium international has been a standout performer in the Premier League since joining The Foxes in January but admits his immediate future still lies with his parent club despite intense transfer speculation.

Tielemans has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window while Brendan Rodgers is also keen for him to remain at Leicester.

During his brief spell in English football the 22-year-old has scored three times and notched five assists as he helped Leicester revive their season and seal a ninth-place finish in the top-flight.

United are in the market to sign a new central midfielder this summer after Ander Herrera confirmed he would be departing Old Trafford once his contract expires at the end of the season.

Speaking after his side were held to a goalless draw by Chelsea on the final day of the Premier League season Tielemans refused to be drawn on his future amid the intense transfer speculation.

"I expect that I will return to Monaco in the summer, unless something's moving," Tielemans told VTM Nieuws.

"At the moment there's nothing. If things are going well you want to keep it like that. I don't know what Monaco will be asking, so I can't talk about it."
