Manchester United have been made the favourites to sign Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans following Paul Pogba's recent comments.
The French midfielder hurled his future at United into doubt on Sunday when he admitted he would be open to a 'new challenge' away from United while on an Adidas publicity tour in Asisa.
Pogba has been linked with a transfer all summer following another mixed campaign, with Zinedine Zidane's free-spending Real Madrid and former club Juventus the two leading candidates for his signature.
"Like you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well,” Pogba told reporters. “For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.
“After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well ... I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else. I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”
United remain adamant that their record signing, who joined the club in 2016, will still be a United player when they kick their new Premier League season off against Chelsea on August 11.
However, following the departure of fellow midfielder Ander Herrera, should Pogba depart the club this summer then United will have to splash the cash on a replacement.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been linked with countless midfielders already, from Newcastle's Sean Longstaff to Lyon's Tanguy Ndombele, from PSG's Adrien Rabiot to Sporting's Bruno Fernandes and plenty more in between.
Another name is Monaco's Tielemans, who has already proved he can cut it in the Premier League after a six month loan spell at Leicester City last season.
The 22-year-old impressed so much that the Foxes are desperate to sign him permanently this summer, but he has also attracted the interests of United and Champions League finalists Tottenham.
However, it's United whose odds to sign Tielemans that have been slashed - from 7/1 to 6/4 - and the club are the odds on favourites to make the acquisition.
