In Get Your Kit On, you had TV presenters in suits costing £1.650, £1.095 and £625. All the jackets had two buttons, and all had both buttons fastened. Has nobody ever told them that two-button single-breasted jackets are cut so they hang properly with only the top button fastened?

I'm not sure what to be more amazed at: Weekend printing Mrs Dowling's joke (very bad taste, very funny) or not mentioning football pundit Mark Lawrenson – great footballer, but from his hair down to his shoes, an absolute fashion disaster.

Tim Dowling's new hairdo isn't nameless. My mother calls it the dead mole.

I appreciate Andrew Anthony was following a boys' team, but no mention of the girls and women who play the sport? I am mum to a daughter who has been playing since the age of eight, and is still playing at 17, and endure all that Anthony's final paragraph states – though for my daughter's best interest.

It's the same story in France: each season brings its sorry litany of similar incidents, some of which get out of hand to the point where refs have been attacked by parents with iron bars, knives and even guns.

In 1982 I was refereeing a match between two junior schools. A forward slipped the ball past the goalkeeper and, as it rolled towards the net, a dad rushed on to the pitch to make a great goalmouth clearance.

I tried to take Stuart Heritage's test, but got stuck at, "To you fashion means..." The option, "A capitalist plot to persuade people to buy stuff they don't need" was not available.

Isn't putting a whole human being in "going down" in The Measure a bit much? Imagine Helen Mirren getting up on Saturday, munching on her toast and reading that. Also, if I am to bend to the whim of these brutal arbiters, are they really currently walking around with pink hair and glueing googly eyes on £14,000 bags?

I'm a pastor's wife, too, and we do not all share those sentiments. Yes, the hours can be long – you can't schedule a death or sudden illness – but my husband and I work hard at scheduling brief getaways to rest and refuel, and to enjoy being together. In general, our congregation not only accepts this, but encourages us. Of course some complain, but doesn't every occupation have its struggles?

Lucy Mangan's thoughts about her son reaching the age of three brought back memories from over 23 years ago when my daughter was a similar age. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.

I've just read the Experience about the couple who found each other due to a typo. How beautiful, and much better than any film.

Another half-answer from a grown-up (Ask a grown-up). People say things they don't mean not necessarily because they feel bad, but because they wish to gain an advantage and make themselves feel even better. It's not the same thing, and it's called lying.
