Samantha Morton's exposure of abuse in the care system highlighted what needs to change, most pressingly degree-level training for residential social workers. I spent 26 years as a children's social worker, and look back on my career wondering what more I could have done. No child should have to go through what Morton did.

Naomi Klein asks, "What is wrong with us?", and concludes that our problems are caused by the agenda of the elite. She is right, but fails to answer her own question. What is wrong with us is an addiction to our lifestyles. We must address this, and give up the idea that a man-made solution can save us. Living in harmony with the planet is the only way.

It was a surprise to see Laura Barton driving around in a leisure vehicle capable of attaining a speed of almost twice the legal speed limit with the business secretary. It ought to have been the environment secretary – or had she politely declined?

There are plenty of things to like and dislike in the new-look Weekend, but most importantly, what have you done with Lucy Mangan? I've scanned every section (well, not Sport or Travel, obviously, that would be silly), but I can't find her. Please bring her back.

Nice new style, and lovely to see contributions from Cerys Matthews and Thomasina Miers, plus a woman driver and models in wearable and affordable clothes. But then I had a Where's Wally? moment: no Lucy?

Great to see Cerys Matthews/Dr Crotchety spreading the word about Paprika. My band Klonk played with them a couple of years ago, when they were called Paprika Balkanicus, and they are amazing.

I am sad you've axed the Scrabble. I have spent many hours stretching the old grey matter over Stewart Holden's enjoyable and educational puzzles.

I really like the new magazine, but can you please ask a grown-up why you have got rid of Ask A Grown-up?
