I’m as big a fan of Cate Blanchett as the next person, but how can anyone’s career, as impressive as it may be, beat surviving 14 months at sea? That should have been the cover story.

No, Max Liu, it’s not just you. And it’s not just men, either – this happens to women, too. I’m 32 and single, with no plans to change, and my closest friends are all growing up and moving away, or absorbed by the demands of parenthood. I’ve confessed to them that I feel adrift and alone, and have been astonished to find out that, even with families and new homes, many of them – men and women alike – feel exactly the same.

A brilliant article by Bridget Christie on Lloyd Webber and his fat cat mates , but she shouldn’t feel guilty about having a garden. It’s only a garden, not 200 acres of deer park.

I laughed so much at the Berger & Wyse Feedback cartoon, I began to fear I had a medical condition. Please don’t do this again.
