David Bailey’s photographs of centenarians, combined with Sally Williams’ interviews, was the best thing you’ve done in ages. Their life stories were moving, expressive and revelatory, and the unadorned black-and-white portraits pure poetry. I loved Eileen so much, I want to be just like her when I grow up.

It is so interesting to read about “ordinary” people. If newspapers stopped giving so much space to “celebrities”, and found more stories about unknown people, they may regain reputation and readers.

There are common themes to your subjects’ long lives: an optimistic outlook, a large family, avoiding excesses and, of course, good genes. My mother, who lived to 101, was serene, sociable and careful with food. To inherit good genes is important, but it’s not enough. If you have a Ferrari, you must learn how to drive it.

Ethical porn? I don’t think so. Please do not perpetuate the myth that porn is fair trade. Or did I miss the true meaning of ethical?

It seems as though “ethical porn” is OK if it’s women who make the films and throw in the word “feminist”. Porn is porn, no matter how “ethical” or “fair trade” it’s made to sound.

It’s depressing how many people are against the concept of ethical porn, as if it couldn’t possibly be any good. I enjoy porn, and I enjoy S&M, but as a feminist I recognise how problematic S&M porn is. What Zoe Williams describes sounds exactly right: use actors who genuinely enjoy what they are doing, and make plenty of allowances to avoid compromising consent.

Miriam Margolyes wants to say sorry to Palestinians, because, as a Jew, she has to “take collective responsibility”. As a Jew, I do not share her sense of responsibility. She believes Jews made the Palestinians victims. Most Jews do not, and neither do I, so please, not in my name.

The solution to normality perverts is quite simple: laugh at them. Me and my friends at school do strange things when the ultra-normal popular girls are looking, then laugh our heads off when they go all wide-eyed. Non-uniform days are even better for this.
