Have we all been seduced by Pharrell? Doesn't anyone object to the "controversial" lyrics of Blurred Lines? If Tom Jones threatened to batter down the back doors of his fantasy female fans, I think Simon Hattenstone might be moved to object. So now we are supposed to be entertained by the threat/promise of injury by anal sex? That doesn't excite me. It's not a question of good girls and bitches. Hattenstone should have parked his fear of looking uncool and spoken out. Just because Pharrell's wife condones his "perversity" doesn't mean it doesn't stink.

International Women's Day and you have Pharrell on the cover?

Surely anyone seeking asylum because their life is in danger is not too concerned about picking up their career – their whole lives have to be rebuilt. A clearer emphasis would have been – Was: beaten, imprisoned and under threat of death. Now: free.

We have become so consumed with fear that we reject the contribution these people could make to society. Throughout history flows of people between countries have spawned new ideas, sown the seeds of great businesses, stimulated economic growth and enlivened cultures.

I never realised I was addicted. I rarely drink coffee and only a few cups of tea a day. Some years ago, I was suffering from truly blinding headaches. Then I discovered that my son had bought (in error) caffeine-free teabags – I was unknowingly going through withdrawal.

I can't taste the difference nor feel the effect of caffeine directly, but I suspect it keeps me awake at night, so I drink only decaffeinated coffee after midday. But how to know if it's genuinely low-caffeine (I accept it won't be zero)? There were once litmus-style test strips, but they've been discontinued. Any suggestions?

At first I was put off The Cool Hunter by the description of Alex Calderwood as a "hipster", but then it became clear that this was the least of his qualities, and that he was an energetic and unusual individual. A lot of people seem ready to sneer at someone they never met, who died too young but who pursued his interests with flair, and gave pleasure and employment to many.

Weekend offers a spread of fine journalism, funny writing, food and fashion – it works for me. Advice on cleaning "grouting between tiles with an old toothbrush dipped in thick bleach" was unwelcome, like Vogue telling me to throw out the socks with holes.

Once again, a genuine chuckle: Berger & Wyse are Weekend's most reliable delight.

I enjoyed Sam Wollaston's review of the Mazda MX-5. I bought one with a soft top three years ago, at the age of 55 and after years of ferrying children, bicycles, camping gear, etc in a Volvo estate. My daughter said, "But it only has two seats…" Exactly.

The 8 March Your Pictures showed lots of children and only one adult being "excited". Shall we bring that ratio down a little? Who's up for a bounce/dance/giggle/cheer/skip?
