Your unwanted Christmas socks can now be traded for video games

Socks have to be one of the least exciting things to get for Christmas - until now.

GAME is offering customers the opportunity to get money off the latest blockbuster video games by trading in their unwanted Christmas footwear.

The video game retailer will give you in-store credit in exchange for socks, as long as they’re new and unworn.

It explained: “Following the Christmas period, unwanted socks get thrown to the back of the drawer and forgotten, or worse still – they go straight in the bin.

“Over 25% of Brits class socks as their least-desired Christmas present, with a combined £5billion a year wasted on unwanted presents, whilst the number one requested item for the UK’s homeless shelter is….. socks!”

If you takes your socks into GAME, the retailer will give you £2 credit for games, or £15 credit for tablets, smartphones and consoles.

Best of all, every pair of socks collected will then be donated to various homeless charities to help communities across the UK.

The offer is valid until February 6, and you can find out where your nearest GAME is here .
